I originally wanted this space to be really full of all my writings. I was then struck by the same issue that many have: Execution
So the blog is the area of my site where I hope to commit to some sort of writing schedule. Until that happens my blog and writings will be sporadically updated.
Veteran
I am a US Air Force Veteran, 100% Disabled (IU)
I have been connected with the military for the majority of my life. My father was active duty when I was born. My grandfather had just retired from service spanning World War 2, Korea, and Vietnam. My Daughter was born to an active duty Mom, in a base hospital and went on to also serve and is also now disabled.
Service is rooted deeply in my history. I have a unique understanding of Veterans issues from the lens of someone who has served, and lived in and around the military since birth.
Artist
I have been an on and off artist most of my life. I have worked in many mediums over the years. I consider my guitar building part of this work, as it is its own kind of art form, as well as the other wood working and restorations I have done in the past. Sadly as time passes my ability to do those things is diminished.
Today I spend time making collage art as a form of therapy for cPTSD. I hope to eventually work with the VA to create a local Veterans Art Therapy Group.
Coach
When I went to college I wanted to be a teacher.
Life had other plans for me.
The universe decided to make me a far more hands on teacher than I would have ever dreamed of being had I stayed on the "normal" path and followed the crowd.
Throughout the years I have been blessed to be put in positions where I've been able to make real positive change in peoples lives. It has allowed me to hone my coaching ability, working with a wide range of people and issues.
Today I offer limited coaching through my volunteer work.
